Hi! I’m Ana, an illustrator and mural artist from the Basque Country, living in Tucson, Arizona, since 2019. My background is in painting, fashion design and education.
Currently, I teach zine and mural workshops and my career focuses on working primarily with groups of children and young adults who have experienced trauma, where the main purpose is healing through art. Recently, I was working as co-principal investigator on a project for the University of Arizona. The goal of this project was to provide targeted education on soil health for drought resilience by merging art and science. Within this project, I taught muralismo and zine-making workshops for high school students, for which I created a series of educational material and zines, and I also designed and painted murals in public spaces and in the different high schools we worked with.
I love to work on projects that reflect my personal interests and values such as the power of women, equality, nature, and sustainability.
