He therefore bases his work on ideas borrowed from other sources, such as the theatre, films, literature and finally photography. SERGIO

LARA

Animator

Info
Sergio Lara has always been a film, comic and cartoon buff and loved to play with figurines. He discovered from Javier Tostado, Pablo Llorens and David Caballer in Valencia that you can earn a living by bringing objects and puppets to life by means of stop-motion animation. His childhood memories show that stop-motion has always been there, lying latent. Artists such as Phil Tippett, Harryhausen, Will Vinton, or series such as Pingu would make their mark. After several jobs in Valencia, including animating and directing the Clay Kids series, Sergio has worked on different feature films, short films and advertising, The most outstanding are ‘Anomalisa’, by Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson, ‘Under the Apple Tree’, by Erik Van Schaaik, ‘Henrietta Bulkowski’ by Rachel Johnson, and most recently ‘Isle of Dogs’ by Wes Anderson. He has just finished animating ‘El diari de Bita i Cora’, a children’s series for the new Valencia public television channel.
