We are pleased to present this first edition of Irudika in the form of a meeting of professional illustration with the objective of becoming an international fair. Its aim is to offer year-on- year training through presentations by Basque, national & international speakers, as well as surprise workshops, reviving the beloved Albarracin model. Irudika will create a meeting point with renowned presenters from the worlds of publishing, illustration, comics and animation with 2 days of debate, reflection and exhibitions of work.

Participants in this showcase will include independent groups which form the fabric of Basque illustration. We will launch competitions with prizes of artistic residences in Vitoria Gazteiz, Bilbaoarte and La Maison des Auteurs d´Angoulême, during the evening events and on the second day, there will be an opportunity to seek advice and network through appointments between professionals.

Here at Euskal Irudigileak, we have been yearning to create a space like this, to expand our annual illustration gatherings and to invite all to enjoy the party. Now, we have achieved it.

Irudika offers 5 secret workshops about using loved models such as the Albarracin.
We take advantage of the internationally and nationally renown speakers offering their time so that participants can really gain from the experience, learn and grow through theory, conferences, debates, and workshops.

Access to the workshops are included with the purchase of the Illustrator Pass.

Three different series of conferences, made up by publishers, art directors and illustrators that keep relationship with each other, either through projects, visions in common or for having worked together.

On each conference, there is at least a Basque professional, a publisher or art director and an illustrator. All of them talk about the projects or concepts that they have in common and from the perspective of their profession, they completely reach the experience of editorial work.

Open until full capacity.

As we know that the best meetings are random, we stimulate the conversations between attendants through coffee breaks, breakfasts and cocktails set musically.  The cocktails will take place in the exhibition space collective of the Basque Country as well as the events related to the illustration. While the assistants get to know each other, we’ll have animated projections and contests announcements.

Illustrators will have access to appointments with publishers and professionals with whom they can improve their portfolio or make labor agreements.

It will be enabled a networking space between professionals from the sectors that are fed by the illustration: advertising and agencies, animation producers, magazines and newspapers, publishers and graphic design studios or companies related to the graphic arts.

Bases and how to make registration.

The deadline for submission of applications will finish the 6th of November. All documentation will be processed via
