Speakers from three countries – Mexico, Italy and Germany – will be at the event in Vitoria this year. Those countries host the world’s most influential international book fairs and their agents will moderate the sessions with illustrators and publishers linked by origin or project to that territory:
Friday 6.00 p.m.
RUBÉN PADILLA professionals coordinator at FIL de Guadalajara, will showcase his fair and the “Border Line” work by LEIRE URBELTZ, the Basque illustrator, based on the Mexican border situations experienced on her travels, along with the work of GABRIEL PACHECO, the Mexican illustrator, and the Petra Ediciones publisher, PEGGY ESPINOSA.
Saturday 11.30 a.m.
ELENA PASOLIwill showcase the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and will moderate the talk by IBAN BARRENETXEA, a Basque illustrator who has worked with the Italian ARIANNA SQUILLONI, director of A buen paso, which in turn has published the work of ANNA CASTAGNOLI, the critic and illustrator.
Saturday 7.30 p.m.
MARIFÉ BOIXDeputy Chair of the Frankfurt Buchmesse, will talk about her fair and will showcase the work of MONIKA BILSTEIN, a publisher at Peter Hammer Verlag, the German historical publisher of Wolf Erlbruch, as well as that of PELLO ELZABURU at Pamiela publishers, who translate Wolf’s works into Basque, or the work of KATRIN STANGL, the illustrator, which in turn has been published by Monika publishers.
